Michael Marzzacco is a recent graduate of Radford University where he finished with a degree in journalism. During his time at Radford he served as the sports editor of the school newspaper The Tartan and helped revise the sports section into one of the best the campus had ever seen. In addition to writing, he had his own radio show on radiofreeradford.com for two and a half years. Michael has grown up in the DC area and has supported the Nats, Wizards, Capitals and Redskins throughout his life. Aside from writing about the Nats, Michael is also a contributing writer to popular Caps blog NoVa Caps and you can find some of his work on novacaps.com. He hopes to someday cover professional sports in the DC area and believes that both starting his own blog and contributing to another can help him go in the right direction.
James Kenney is a rising sophomore at Virginia Tech where he studies Political Science with a concentration in National Securities studies. He plans to add a second major or a minor in a subject where he gets to write a lot. After college, he intends to go to law school or go to Officer Candidate School and serve in the military. Although journalism is not his passion, he enjoys writing and enjoys rooting for the Nationals even more. He is a die-hard Nationals, Washington Capitals, and Miami Dolphins fan. He hopes to take skills learned from The Pursuit to write for a newspaper at school.
Will Beverina is a current senior at Radford University where he studies Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Technical and Business Writing and plans to graduate in spring of 2017. As the current sports editor of The Tartan, he writes and edits articles and lays out the sports section while managing a team of numerous writers. He just completed an internship over the summer with PinstripesPlus of Scout.com where he wrote feature articles about players on the Pulaski Yankees, a Yankees rookie-ball affiliate. Will has lived in the DC area his entire life and is a fan of the Nats, Caps, Redskins and Wizards. While he does not plan to pursue a career in journalism, Will hopes to continue to improve his writing and eventually do public relations for a DC sports team.
