The Nationals fell in the series finale to the Braves 13-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Nationals Park. Coming off a win last night and blowing a late lead in the opener, the Nats pitchers had trouble recording outs and the Braves tallied runs in every odd numbered inning except the ninth.

Tanner Roark dropped his second straight start, allowing seven runs on nine hits while striking out five. He gave up a home run to former Nats catcher Kurt Suzuki in the third.

The Nats got their lone runs in the second inning with a two-run homer by Brian Goodwin into the middle deck in right field for his fourth home run of the season. The next inning when the Nats were on the field, Bryce Harper showed off that impressive arm of his.

The Braves did their most damage in the seventh with a six-run inning. Bullpen arms Trevor Gott gave up five runs while Blake Treinen gave up one run.

The Nationals will now hit the road to take on the Mets in New York, beginning tonight in the first game of a four-game weekend series.
