The Nationals took the series opener over the Dodgers 4-2 on Monday night in a rematch of last year’s NLDS. While the stakes weren’t as big as they were back in October, the Nats got a huge road win and are now 6-1 on this west coast swing.
Gio Gonzalez went six innings striking out five while allowing two runs on four hits improving his record to 5-1. Oliver Perez got his first save of the season.
The Nationals struck first in the top of the second on a home run by Anthony Rendon.
