On what was another great night in DC sports with the Caps advancing, the Nationals did their part. Scherzer improved his record to 3-1 as he went eight strong innings allowing just three runs on five hits. Koda Glover notched his second save.
This game started out roughly if you were a Mets fan. Adam Eaton led off getting hit by a pitch. Trea Turner and Bryce Harper each followed with a single to load the bases. After Ryan Zimmerman struck out, Murphy came up and delivered the big blow for his third home run of the season.

The Mets answered in the bottom of the first with a home run by Michael Conforto and in the third with a two-run homer by Neil Walker to make it a 4-3 game. Ryan Zimmerman gave the Nats insurance with his sixth home run of the season with a long drive into the seats in left-center.
The Nationals begin a four game series against the Rockies in Colorado. With Stephen Strasburg and his wife expecting their second child, he is on paternity leave. Jacob Turner will get the start for the Nats. First pitch is at 8:40.
