The Nats used the long ball multiple times to slug their way to a 13-1 win over the Astros. This time it was Washington as the visiting team in the shared spring facility in West Palm Beach.

In the top of the first Trea Turner led off with a double and stole third. Adam Eaton followed with a sac fly to score Turner.

Jayson Werth would then belt a three run homer.

Anthony Rendon would follow with a solo shot in the third inning over the left-centerfield wall to make it 5-0. In the fifth, Grant Green drove home Brian Goodwin on an RBI single. In the sixth, Bryce Harper smacked his second home run of the spring, a two run bomb

Wilmer Difo followed with a triple and Goodwin was intentionally walked. Green would hit his second RBI single on the afternoon to send Difo home. Jhonatan Solano followed with a single into left field to score Goodwin. Andrew Stevenson got hit by a pitch and Emmanuel Burris hit a sacrifice fly to score Green. The five-run sixth made it 11-0.

In the eighth, Rafael Bautista singled into right field to score Solano. In the ninth, Solano singled to score Difo.

The Nationals will play a split-squad affair this afternoon with both games at 1:05. They’ll host the Cardinals while the other squad will go to Jupiter, Fl. to take on the Marlins.
