The Pursuit is back! Pitchers and catchers reported on Valentine’s Day, today they took the field for the first workout. They are in their new facility in West Palm Beach, Florida instead of Vierra. The Nationals and Astros each share this 6,500 seat facility called The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.

The pitchers were grouped together with only Max Scherzer and Tim Collins not in a group, as each are rehabbing from injuries. Scherzer was seen on the mound in Game 5 of the NLDS and it seemed that he wasn’t injured but he felt discomfort during his start late August against the Orioles and ultimately was diagnosed with a fractured bottom knuckle in his right finger.

Daniel Murphy, Anthony Rendon, and Stephen Drew arrived in West Palm Beach today.

Stephen Strasburg, who injured himself last season after starting the year 6-0, was back throwing on the mound:

Scherzer said he is unsure of whether or not he will be ready for Opening Day.
