The rosters of the World Baseball classic were revealed on Wednesday and there will be nine players from the Washington Nationals who will be representing their respective countries.
In all, there were five players from their 40-man roster and nine total. Daniel Murphy, Tanner Roark, Oliver Perez, Rafael Martin and recently-acquired left-hander Enny Romero were selected. Romero was acquired from the Rays in a trade on Tuesday for Minor Leaguer Jeffrey Rosa.
Other players that were named were left-hander R.C. Orlan, catcher Nick Rickles, catcher Jhonatan Solano, and infielder Adrian Sanchez.
Murphy and Roark will be representing the United States. Martin and Perez for Mexico. Romero will play for the Dominican Republic. Orlan and Rickles will play for Israel, and Solano and Sanchez will play for Columbia.
The World Baseball Classic will begin on March 6 and run till the 22nd.
