Nats fans and players alike can all breathe a sigh of relief. Stephen Strasburg’s ulnar collateral ligament wasn’t damaged which means no Tommy John surgery is required. Strasburg instead has a right flexor strain. This isn’t a season-ending injury but there hasn’t yet been a set timetable on his return.

Strasburg exited his start against the Braves on Wednesday in the third inning after he felt a pinch in the back of his elbow. He was sent for an MRI yesterday.
