Papelbon loses it on the mound

By Michael Marzzacco

The Nats lost to the Cleveland Indians 7-6 on Tuesday night.

Papelbon continued his slump on the hill with another bad ninth inning. After allowing four runs on Sunday he allowed three last night.

Oliver Perez gave up the winning run when Francisco Lindor belted a single to drive home the winner to the plate. It is without a doubt that the bullpen has been atrocious and needs to be fixed by trade deadline. They missed a chance to acquire Adrolis Champman as he instead was dealt to the Cubs from the Yankees in exchange for minor leaguers. There are still relievers available.

Wilson Ramos continued his hit bar as he hit his 15th home run of the year. He also doubled and scored in the fourth.

Anthony Rendon went 2 for 4 with a homer, 2 RBIs, and two runs. He hit his 12th homer of the season in the fourth inning, a two-run shot.

The Nats will look for a win in the series finale. First pitch is at 12:10 and Washington will send Strasburg to the mound.
