Coming off a loss on Tuesday night the Nationals responded with an 8-1 win last night at Nats Park.
In the bottom of the first with Daniel Murphy on, Bryce Harper blasted a moonshot into the upper deck of right field for his 20th long-ball of the season. In the fifth with two outs the Nats got back-to-back home runs with Ben Revere and Jayson Werth putting Washington up 4-1.
In the sixth, Wilson Ramos belted a double into right field to score Harper. Trea Turner followed with a triple down the left field line to score Ramos. With Clint Robinson at the plate, Dodgers reliever Louis Coleman tried to pick off Danny Espinosa at first. As Espinosa was in the middle of a pickle, Turner stole home. The Nats rounded out the scoring in the eighth with a home run by Anthony Rendon. Koda Glover, another Nationals prospect that got called up, was perfect in the ninth and took him just four pitches to retire the side.
This afternoon will feature an epic pitching matchup between Clayton Kershaw and Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg will go for win #14 as he takes his undefeated record to the mound.
